Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival & The First Fire

Arrive at Cape Town International, where our team will be on-hand to meet you and your students with cold rooibos iced tea. Our aircon mini van takes the scenic route along the coast to the villa. Guest check into their ensuite rooms, where they find a welcome bag.

Now it’s time to unwind from the flight and take the afternoon at a gentle pace by the pool. Once the whole group has assembled, we welcome everyone with a long-table dinner around the fire pit as the sun drops into the Atlantic.

Day 2

Sunrise Morning & The Rhythm of Africa

The day opens gently: a sunrise practice on the deck, then a slow breakfast with nowhere to be. Late morning, we wander down into Hout Bay, its white sandy beach and working harbour, is yours to explore. Paddle out on a stand-up board or simply stretch out on the sand with a book. Lunch is easy and unhurried. As the light softens, we come back together for our PM practice.

Then, come evening, we head into Constantia to Silvermist Wine Estate for a tasting among the vines, followed by Drumstruck: The story of African music told through its instruments, with a drum placed in your own hands. Dinner is a traditional South African braai under the stars: your proper welcome to Africa.

Day 3

Mountains Edge

A light breakfast and then the group sets off for a sunrise hike up Table Mountain where your expert guide plots a route to the summit that all levels can enjoy. Camera rolls bursting as the sun rises, we take the Cable car down and head back to base for a restorative session with an extra long Shavasana.

The afternoon is for unwinding: swim, sleep, or take a treatment. Dinner is served at the villa following a sunset practice on the mat.

Day 4

Where the Sun meets the Sea

By now the mornings have found their rhythm, and today’s practice flows easily. Breakfast is poolside. From here the day is yours: get a group together and slip down to the beaches of Camps Bay or stay by the water with your journal and let the hours drift.

Late afternoon, we take our mats to Sea Point, where a private deck becomes our studio and the Atlantic our horizon. We practise as the sun sinks into the ocean, the sky turning gold, then rose, then dark.

Then to Mojo Market for dinner. A hum of colour and spice where the traders’ stalls carry everything from smoky street food to fresh-off-the-boat seafood. Local musicians set the tempo, and the night loosens into good food, easy conversation and the kind of laughter that fills a room.

Day 5

Into the Wild (Gently)

The mid-week reset.

We begin on Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s great coastal drives, winding high above the sea with the whole Atlantic laid out below. Breathtaking views, numerous photo stops, and be sure to watch for whales moving through the water off Hout Bay.

On the other side of the peninsula, we meet the marine biologist that will lead our reef & kelp forest snorkelling experience. This is where “My Octopus Teacher” was filmed. Expect to see octopus, rays, small sharks & many fish species.

Lunch on the water in Simon’s Town is followed by an afternoon with the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. This is all about connection with nature. Sun-bathing and swimming amongst our little tuxedo-wearing hosts. By the time the late afternoon settles on False Bay, we head for home.

Day 6

Kirstenbosch in Bloom

The body fully rested, the morning practice is the strongest of the week. After brunch some optional extras to choose from. First up a guided walk through Kirstenbosch - spring is the garden’s most colourful month.

After lunch we trade fauna for colourful history, a walking tour where the group immerses itself in the history and vibrancy of the historic neighbourhood of Bo Kaap. Lunch is enjoyed at leisure in the Timeout market of the V&A waterfront. A vibrant vinyasa flow is followed by an evening swim and poolside cocktails before dinner is served.

Day 7

The Farewell Table

The final morning practice is a look back to celebrate the week’s progression and achievements. A short film of the week’s highlights does the rounds: smiles and the retelling of stories are shared over breakfast.

The day itself offers the chance to hunt down a last treasure at one of Cape Town’s colourful street markets.

Then, as the sun goes down, we gather one last time. A closing practice at the villa that’s been home all week, and then the farewell table: one long table beneath the stars, candlelight, good wine, and the whole group together for a final feast. There are gifts from the Game On team, there are promises to stay in touch and there’s the quiet knowledge that you arrived as a group of yogis and leave as friends.

Last Light

From the Mat to the Bush: Add a Big Five Safari

Many of the Game On Yogi adventurers complete a week of teaching and training and then want to see more of South Africa. Our most popular request is to go to a private reserve, learn about the animals of the African bushveld – and for good reason – it is epic. This is an optional extra. We need to get a certain number confirmed to make these trips happen, but if we do, as the teacher, your place is complimentary. Call us now and let's set our intention of making this happen.

Please contact us to enquire. We will help you craft your adventure.
